Connect to the internet with Fon

Fon is a worldwide network of Wifi routers. Several Fon routers are located in Almuñécar. Now you can connect to internet with your laptop or mobile phone via a Fon Wifi router near the paseo. This connection works great with E72 and other smartphones.  See location of a Fon router in central Almunecar here.

Crime in Almunecar

Almunecar is a very friendly and peaceful little pueblo. But unfortunately there are some light crime like robbery. Several street robberies of wallets where reported around the 1st of July this year. The victims are elderly ladies holding their wallet in their hand while walking. The thief would come running by and snap the wallet. In one case he was seen escaping up into the old town (pueblo), and was also recognized by some people. The police said they knew him and would take care of the rest. But as you know, thieves like this will not be locked away before they have hundreds of robberies behind them, and therefore this one is likely to be back on the street, looking for your wallet. Stow your wallet and keep your eyes open. And don’t forget to have your smartphone ready:)

 Crimescene

A landmark of Almunecar, El Peñon del Santo.

When you come to Almunecar, first thing you will notice is El Peñon del Santo. Some huge cliffs extending from the shore into the sea. This place was used as part of the old fortress centuries ago. I decided to take a closer look. Check out these pictures taken with the 5 mega-pixel camera of a Nokia E72 smartphone.

Almunecar is a great place for smartphones.

Hi there, my name is E72 and I come from Finland. I want to show you the best of my favourite Spanish pueblo, Almunecar. I have only got one eye, but plenty of battery power, so I can keep taking pictures for days without having to recharge. Unlike those fancy android devices, that wont make it through half a day, he he he...
